02Industries

Built into machines that are not allowed to stop.

Our engineers work with OEMs in six core markets, so the bearing arrives already matched to its load, speed and environment.

  • Electric motors and EV

Hybrid ceramic bearings that block stray shaft currents in inverter-fed and traction motors, plus C3 deep groove bearings for hot-running housings.

    Hybrid ceramic · Deep groove

  • Machine tools

Matched P4 angular contact sets with factory-set preload for spindles where runout is measured in microns.

    Angular contact · Hybrid ceramic

  • Robotics and automation

Low-torque, low-noise bearings for joints, grippers, linear axes and the servo motors that drive them.

    Miniature · Deep groove

  • Medical and dental

Cleanroom-assembled miniatures for handpieces, infusion pumps and imaging, with lubricant fills controlled to the milligram.

    Miniature · Stainless steel

  • Food and beverage

Stainless bearings with food-grade grease and FDA-compliant seals that survive high-pressure washdown every shift.

    Stainless steel · Deep groove

  • Pumps and compressors

Angular contact pairs that carry heavy axial thrust, and sealed deep groove bearings for long service intervals.

03How we work

From your drawing to a verified batch.

One engineer owns your project from the first question to the last shipment. No hand-offs, no guesswork.

Application engineer reviewing a customer drawing at a drafting table
Application engineering reviews every new drawing within one business day.
  1. 01

    Specify

Send a part number, a competitor reference or your drawing, with the load, speed, temperature and environment the bearing will see.

  2. 02

    Engineer

A named application engineer checks rating life, fits, clearance and lubrication, then recommends the bearing that suits your duty.

  3. 03

    Manufacture

Rings are turned, heat treated, ground and superfinished in-house. Assembly and greasing happen in a controlled environment.

  4. 04

    Verify and ship

Every bearing is noise and vibration tested, and every batch ships with a dimensional report and an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate.

04Quality

Measured, not assumed.

Precision only counts when you can prove it. Every Rotara bearing passes through metrology, noise testing and documentation before it leaves the building.

05Company

Independent since 1987. Still obsessed with the last micron.

Rotara started as a six-person grinding shop in Columbus, Ohio, regrinding races for local motor rebuilders. Our founder believed a bearing is only as good as the last micron on its raceway, and that belief still sets the pace on our shop floor.

Today we turn, heat treat, grind, superfinish, assemble and test every bearing under one roof. We are still independent, which means the engineer who answers your first email is the one who signs off your first batch.

06FAQ

Questions buyers ask us first.

Lead times, minimums, paperwork and replacements for the brand you use today.

Ask an engineer something else
Can you replace the bearings we buy from a major brand today?

Yes. Our standard bearings follow ISO 15 boundary dimensions and common suffix conventions. Send us the part number you use and we will confirm the Rotara equivalent, including internal clearance, seal type and grease.

What is your minimum order quantity?

There is no minimum for stocked sizes. Custom bearings usually start at 500 pieces, and we make prototype runs of 10 to 50 pieces for validation testing.

How long are your lead times?

Stocked sizes ship within 48 hours. Standard sizes that are not in stock take three to five weeks. Custom designs take six to ten weeks from an approved drawing, including first article inspection.

Can you make a bearing to our own drawing?

Yes. We make special bores and widths, flanged and extended inner rings, special clearances and preloads, and custom lubricant fills. Send us a drawing, or a sketch with the key dimensions and the duty.

Which certificates and reports come with an order?

Every batch ships with a dimensional inspection report and an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate. PPAP up to level 3, first article inspection reports and customer-specific test plans are available on request.

Which precision classes do you offer?

From ISO P0 (ABEC 1) for general machinery up to P4 (ABEC 7) for machine tool spindles. P2 (ABEC 9) is available on request for selected angular contact sizes.

Send us a part number, a drawing or a problem.
